I wanted to stop using my pickup for short trips, so I bought the belt drive, three speed District. With all its black components, and disk brakes, it looks modern, but with an old-school style frame. I installed a rear rack, large Bontrager shopping bags, some safety lights, and headed out shopping. I carry my security chain and padlock in the bags, and have the clerk pack the bags at the store. I find that the three speed gearing is good, even with 50 pounds in the bags.
